SPECIAL MEETING
CITY OF LAKE BUTLER
SEPTEMBER 15, 2009


CALL TO ORDER - ROLL CALL: Mayor Crawford called the meeting to order at 5:15 p.m. and read the following notice: “If a person decides to appeal a decision made with respect to any matter at this meeting or hearing, he will need a record of the proceedings and may need to ensure that a verbatim record is made”.

Commissioners Beasley, Brantley Crawford, Cason, Myers & Mayor R. Crawford were present.


City Attorney Maines & City Manager Berchtold were present.


ITEM A. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE – Mayor Crawford led the pledge of allegiance.

ITEM B. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA FORMAT
Motion made by Myers, second by Beasley and carried unanimously to approve the Agenda Format.


ITEM C. PROVISION OF CITIZEN INPUT
There were none.


ITEM 1. PUBLIC HEARING AND DISCUSSION OF THE PROPOSED MILLAGE RATE OF 2.2881 MILLS AND THE TENTATIVE BUDGET FOR

FY 2009-10

The proposed millage rate was discussed. City Manager Berchtold provided the Tentative Budget Summary.

Mayor Crawford opened the Public Hearing and asked for comments and there were none.

Mayor Crawford closed the Public Hearing.


ITEM 2. ADOPTION OF THE PROPOSED MILLAGE RATE OF 2.2881 MILLS
Motion made by Beasley, second by B. Crawford and carried unanimously to adopt the proposed millage rate of 2.2881 mills.


ITEM 3. ADOPTION OF THE TENTATIVE BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2009-10
Motion made by Beasley, second by Myers and carried unanimously to adopt the Tentative Budget.


ITEM 4. ESTABLISH A SPECIAL MEETING AND FINAL HEARING FOR ADOPTION OF THE PROPOSED MILLAGE RATE AND BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 2009-10
Motion made by Cason, second by Beasley and carried unanimously to schedule a Special Meeting and Final Public hearing on the proposed millage rate and adoption of the budget for Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at 5:15 p.m.


ITEM 5. ADJOURNMENT OF THE SPECIAL MEETING.
Mayor Crawford adjourned the meeting at 5:35 p.m.
