CITY OF LAKE BUTLER

CALL TO ORDER - ROLL CALL: Mayor Crawford called the meeting to order at 5:15 p.m. and read the following notice:  If a person decides to appeal a decision made with respect to any matter at this meeting or hearing, he will need a record of the proceedings and may need to ensure that a verbatim record is made”. Mayor Crawford, Commissioners Beasley, R. Crawford, Myers, Stalvey, City Attorney Maines, and City Manager Berchtold were present.

 

ITEM A.   PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE – Mayor Brantley Crawford led the pledge of allegiance.

 

ITEM B.  APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA FORMAT

 

Motion made by Stalvey, second by Beasley and carried unanimously to approve the Agenda Format.

 

ITEM C.   PROVISION FOR CITIZEN INPUT

 

There were no public comments.

 

ITEM 1. PUBLIC HEARING:  MERCANTILE BANK LOAN TO CITY IN THE AMOUNT OF $450,000 FOR SEWER IMPROVEMENTS

 

Mayor Crawford opened the Public Hearing and asked for comments from the Public and there were none.  Mayor Crawford then closed the Public Hearing.

 

ITEM 2. ADOPTION OF RESOLUTION 2008-6 AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF REVENUE NOTE IN THE AMOUNT OF $450,000 TO FUND SEWER IMPROVEMENTS

 

Motion made by Stalvey to adopt Resolution 2008-6, seconded by Beasley and carried unanimously to adopt Resolution 2008-6.

 

Motion made by Stalvey to adopt Resolution 2008-6 and to read the Resolution by title only.  City Attorney Maines read the Resolution by title only.  Motion seconded by Beasley and carried unanimously.

 

ITEM 3. AUTHORIZATION FOR MAYOR, CITY MANAGER AND CITY ATTORNEY TO EXECUTE CLOSING DOCUMENTS ON LOAN FROM MERCANTILE BANK

 

Motion made by Stalvey, seconded by Beasley and carried unanimously to authorize execution of closing documents.

ITEM 3(A).  TRANSFER FROM BUILDING FUND TO UTILITY FUND TO COVER DEBT PAYMENT FOR TWELVE MONTH PERIOD-LIFT STATION PROJECT

 

Motion made by Beasley, seconded by Stalvey and carried unanimously to transfer $41,310 from the Building Fund to the Utility Fund.

 

City Manager Berchtold discussed memo from Darabi & Associates.  In lieu of a performance bond, the contractor will deposit additional monies to expedite process.

 

Motion made by Stalvey, seconded by Beasley and carried unanimously to accept/approve the request.

 

ITEM 4. ADJOURNMENT

 

Motion made by Stalvey, second by Beasley and carried unanimously to adjourn at

9:43 a.m.
